Home About Kathy List of Banners List of paintings Contact Kathy Mullen About Kathy Mullen I am a retired Occupational Therapist who in the past expressed my artistic side by sewing my own clothes and doing crafts. In 1996 I was attending a conference and I saw how banners could carry anointing as they entered or moved through a worship service. Within a short time, coincidentally (!?), there was a locally held worship banner conference and I went to the general sessions only, because I wasn’t too sure about this banner thing.
Shortly after that conference I “saw” a picture in my spirit that I knew needed to be made into a banner. I enlisted support from a friend, got financial assistance from our church and proceeded to create my first banner, Immanuel, God with us. Since then I have periodically received pictures in my spirit which I have translated into fabric banners. I started to make these banners with the support from a friend however when she moved away I have continued to make them on my own with occasional assistance from others. These banners have taken anywhere from 3 weeks to over a year to make depending on how clear the picture is in my mind and how much time has been available to do the work. The banners I have made are primarily focused on the names of the Lord that he makes real to me. They reside at my home church Lakemount Worship Centre in Grimsby ON where they are used spontaneously during our worship services as the Holy Spirit leads. Often people have mentioned that they sensed the presence of the Lord increase when a banner has been brought in – even though their eyes were closed and they were initially unaware of its entrance. Other people have testified how a particular banner has ministered to them when they were able to visualize and appropriate for themselves the message the banner was expressing. The banners are anointed symbols that the Lord uses to make himself real to his people. On this web site we have included the stories behind each banner, the supporting Scriptures and some close-ups so the highlights of their features can be examined. I have created Make Your Own Banner Kits so you can create banners for your home or church. Each kit contains a full size transparent plastic pattern for tracing along with enlarged detailed images of each banner and many of the special features. I continue to make banners so periodically new banners will appear on this site. I have also expanded my artistic endeavours to include oil painting. We are also posting my paintings here and they are available for purchase.
